- Notes: DEATH OF MR. A. P. BROOME. The death occurred suddenly in Goulburn District Hospital of Mr. A. P. Broome on June 4, from peritonitis following appendicitis, hence causing paralysis of the bowels, so sudden that none of his relatives were able to get to his bedside to have a final word. His dying words were to the nurse, who was with him at the last (a Tumut lady), and Matron, to tell his little daughter and relatives in Tumut that he was not guilty of the crime he was imprisoned for, but shielded a woman — could not send a woman to gaol. |
