WEDDINGS JONES— DARBY. At the Catholic Church, Tumut, on Tuesday last, Rev. Fr. P. Donnelly united in the holy bonds of matrimony Miss Annie Darby, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Darby, of Bega, with Malcolm, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Jones, of "The Pines," Tomorroma, two of the oldest settlers in the district, both being natives. Nuptial Mass was celebrated. In the absence of her father away consulting a specialist in Sydney, Mr. Edward Webb gave the bride away. She was attended by Miss Dorrie Ellison, as bridesmaid. Mr. Jack Webb filled the role of best man. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests repaired to the residence of the bridegroom's parents, where the wedding breakfast was served. Conspicuous on the table was a 3-decker wedding cake made and presented by the bridegroom's mother. The usual toast list was honored. Many valuable and useful presents and some cheques were received. The young couple make their home at Tomorroma. |
