| - Notes: His first marriage was brief, in 1677 producing one son, also named Charles then
on 09 ApI 1683 he wed Joan NORTHCOTT. They had six sons and seven daughters between 1685 and 1708. It is not practical to list all these, their spouses and offspring but just as a matter of interest, Robert Chown, the fourth child married another Joan NORTHCOTE at Exeter St Paul in 1725. It is quite likely she was connected to the well-known family from neighbouring Upton Pyne, one of whom was Lord Northcote, Governor-General of Australia from 1904-1908. |
