| Personal Notes: |
| Robert Holt Best, together with brothers Peter & William were the first to occupy and establish the Wagga Wagga Pastoral Run in the early 1830s. He was listed as the first licence holder of the Wagga Wagga Run in 1837. Robert managed the run until he was thrown from a horse and killed in 1853. He established his homestead ‘Flowerdale’ in 1853. Robert held the contract for delivering mail twice a week between Tarcutta and Wagga Wagga in late 1848 until his death in 1853. |
