| Robert Schofield was the son of Edward Schofield, "grazier" and Jane Cooper. His father was probably born about 1787. He married Jane Cooper on 3 May 1803. Robert was born about 1807 in Manchester, England. Robert had been a stable boy and a servant. Robert was described as: Hiehgt 5'4", complexion fair and freckled, hair light brown to sandy, eyes brown, distinguishing marks or scars -none. Robert was convicted on burglary on 10/3/1827 at Lancaster. As this was his second offence he was given a life sentence and left London on the:John 1" on 27 July 1827, arriving four months later in Sydney 25/11/1827. He was assigned to Sarah Alcorn of Pitt Town |
