Robert Lowther came to Tumut in the 1840’s from England. Soon after his arrival Robert became a stockman for a man named Wallace at Tomorrorna.
When Wallace died Robert Lowther married his widow. Later they settled on the grazing and farming property on Bombowlee Creek Where his descendants have resided ever since. Robert was a pillar of the Church of England. All Robert Lowther’s sons were excellent horsemen. |
