Personal Notes:

The Tumut Advocate 15 Jun 1909 MRS. CHARLES EMERY. IT is with deep regret we are called upon to chronicle the death at the early age of 38 years, of Mrs. Emery, wife of Mr. Charles Emery, of this town, and the third eldest daughter of Mr. Jas Clifton. Death came as a happy release to the poor patient sufferer at midnight on Tuesday last, the cause being carcinoma with resultant effects. Drs. Mason and Browne were unremitting in their attentions, her husband spared no pains or expense to attempt any alleviation of her trouble, but alas ! in vain, the insidious disease was not to be repelled. The deceased was ever devoted to the care and upbringing of her one son and three daughters. One daughter predeceased her. For the last 15 months she had been a tired and patient sufferer, and she bore her trials with a resignation hard to find. We deeply sympathise wish her husband, left as he is with four helpless liitle ones on his hands. The funeral took place on Thursday last, the remains being interred in the Presbyterian portion of the old cemetery. Mr. H. W. Hoad was the undertaker, and the Rev. W. N. Lock officiated at the grave. We tender the bereaved ones our deepest condolence.
