Wedding Bells
BLA.KENEY— HALLORAN.
At 8 a.m. yesterday, at the residence of the bride's mother, Mr. Roland Langford Blakeney, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Blakeney of Tumut, and Miss Annie Elizabeth, daughter of Mrs. Halloran sr., of Blowering, were united in holy matrimony by the Very Rev. Father O'Dwyer, Nuptial Mass being celebrated. Miss Theresa Halloran (sister of the bride) was bridesmaid, and Mr. Fred Cripps acted as best man. The invitations were confined to the immediate relatives of the contracting parties. After the ceremony the bridal party sat down to the wedding breakfast, which was followed by the customary toast list, the Rev. Father O'Dwyer proposing the health of the bride and bridegroom, Mr. R. L. Blakeney responding on behalf of his wife and himself, concluding with the toast of 'The Bridesmaid,' Mr. Cripps replying. Mr. Frank Bourke proposed the health of the bride's mother, Mr. Jno. Halloran speaking on her behalf. Mr. P . Halloran proposed 'The Bridegroom's Parents,' Mr. Jas. Blakeney making a suitable response. 'The Chairman' was proposed by Mr. Arthur Blakeney, the Rev. Father O'Dwyer acknowledging same. Later the happy couple, amid showers of rice and confetti, drove away to Gilmore railway station and took the afternoon train to Sydney, where the honeymoon will be spent. We wish them joy and happiness in their union. Further reference to the event will be made in our next issue.
