Parents: Edward Spencer Antill and Mary Hassall Campbell, who had 7 sons and 4 daughters (1857-79). Left Sydney per s.s Southern Cross, 17/1/1900 and disembarked Capetown, 19/2/1900. Lance Corporal 1/9/1900; Corporal, 21/3/1901. Returned to Australia per s.s Tongariro, departing Cape Town, 31/3/1901 and docking at Woolloomooloo, Sydney, 1/5/1901. Discharged 1/5/1901. Awarded QSA and 4 clasps: Drie/Jhb/DH/CC. Married Frances Helen Egan in Warren, NSW, 1905 and had 3 sons and 2 daughters (1906-18). Frances died in 1924. Arthur remarried Louisa Margaret Walters in Sydney in 1932. He died in Albury, 12/9/1934. Brother of Stanley Ross Antill. Cousin of John Macquarie Antill. On the War Memorial at Bathurst. Also recorded on a memorial plaque in the All Saints College Dining Hall, Bathurst. |
