OBITUARY MR. WILLIAM FLYNN Never again will the familiar figure of ''Bill'' Flynn be seen in Gundagai, for on Thursday morning last he passed away at the Gundagai District Hospital. Deceased, who was born 72 years ago at the Araluen diggings, near Braidwood, had been suffering for the last few months from an internal trouble, and the big hardy frame had been reduced by many pounds, and the end came as a relief to the tortured man. Deceased was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs Timothy Flynn, and went to Gundagai when two years old. Old hands will remember his parents well. William Flynn first carried on farming pursuits at Cooba, and then engaged in road work about Gundagai, Tumut and Adelong districts. Deceased, who never married, was a respected member of the Gundagai community, and a familiar figure in the town. One brother, Thomas (who was with him at his death) and two sisters, Mrs McAlister (Young) and Mrs Lord (Melbourne) survive. A brother, Timothy, and sister, Mrs Wickstorm, predeceased him. |
