Personal Notes: |
The family story is that William was raised by his mother's sister, Mrs Campbell, after his father's death in 1875. In 1896, William, a farmer, and his bride were living in Uranquinty. The Parish map of Pearson Parish, County Mitchell, shows W J Hennessy, Special Area, Portion 96 of 120 acres at £3 per acre, 7 August 1907. In 1921 they sold 'Roselea' to Daniel Miegel before moving to Concord. On 21 May 1921, the Farmers and Settlers Association presented them with a large framed, signed, illuminated address. William had been Secretary of The Rock Branch. |
