MR. S. B. TREWEEK
Mr. Stacy Beauchamp Treweek, aged 64 years, who had not been in the best of health for some time past. took a bad turn on Monday morning at his home in Junee and died later that day. Mr. Treweek was born at Bethungra where his late father had a store when the coaches changed horses in that centre on their way to and from Sydney. Later his mother, who was twice married, kept the hotel long since delicensed on the Cootamundra road two miles on the Junee side of Illabo.

Mr. Treweek as a young man, was a fine versatile cricketer in the days when Eurongilly and Bethungra had their noted teams, which included the Weston brothers, the McDonald brothers, and the Gilmore brothers. A fine bat, he compiled many centuries in first-class company.

In the after years his three daughters were also good cricketers and played against the English ladies team that visited Junee. These daughters also became noted tennis players throughout Riverlna. Mr. Treweek spent the greater part of his life at Eurongilly as a farmer. Some years ago he retired owlng to ill-health and went to reside in Junee, where he took a keen interest in cricket and tennis.

With his brother James, now a farmer at Nangus he served in the Boer War. He is survived by a widow: four daughters of Junee. Mrs B Gentle (Mary) Mrs E Pusterla, Alma, Junee Mrs. P Chicken of Junee and Miss Lela Treweek of Wagga and sons, Leo (Canberra), Walter (Sydney) and Jack (overseas with the A.I.F.). Two half-brothers, the Turnbulls, died some years ago.

Mr. Treweek was a very old member of the Manchester Unity Order of Odd fellows. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, the cortege moving to the Pre sbyterian Church, Junee. A short service was conducted at the church by the Rev A S Hutchings who also officiated at the graveside. The cortege was a lengthy one, relatives and friends being present from Wagga, Nangus, Old Junee, Junee and the surrounding district which was testimony to the deceased being very well known.

The casket was draped with our Union Jack. Members of the Junee RSL and the RSSAILA were present and Mr A S Leahy read the poem "Lest we forget". The carriers were Messrs L & W Treweek (sons) P Chicken (son-in-law) and B Gentle, while the floral tray was carried by Messrs L & T Crowder, J Treweek (brother) & L Wooden.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by by Messrs. Black and Pickles, Junee.
