- Notes: Dr. Clayton settled on Blowering Station in 1838. He held large areas on either side of the Tumut River.
Dr. Clayton had been a member of the Captain Charles Sturt expedition down the Murrumbidgee River in 1829. His son Bland Clayton, a well known Stock and Station Agent in Tumut for many years, married Miss Frances Broughton of Gadara. After a couple of years at Blowering Dr. Clayton sold out to J .C. Whitty. |
