On 9 Apr 1838 at the quarter session at Liverpool, Lancashire, England, William, a watchmaker, was found guilty and sentenced to transportation for life for burglary. He arrived in Port Jackson, Sydney on 22 Mar 1839 on the ship "John Barry".
He received his Ticket of Leave on 4 Jun 1846 in Parramatta, NSW. He applied for and received a second Ticket of Leave on 4 Sep 1852 Parramatta. He received a Conditional Pardon on 29 Apr 1854. William married Elizabeth nee Green about 1846. They had 5 (five), sons, William, Charles John, Henry, Thomas, and John. |
