- Notes: The death of Mrs. Bridget Elizabeth Bennett, which occurred in Sydney on Sunday last, removes another of the early pioneers of the Riverina. She, with her husband, Mr. Basil B. Bennett, will be remembered by the old generation as the owners of Brucedale Park, near Wagga. Mrs. Bennett was a sister of the late Mr. Matthew Sawyer, of Ironbong Station. She had been in the Wagga district from her girlhood until she was nearly 70 years of age. When she died she was 85 years old, and her husband, still in good health, is the same age. The couple were married in Wagga, and from their home at Brucedale Park, he managed properties in other parts of the State. |
