| - Notes: Martha had the great misfortune of having been married to my husband's great father, Benjamin Jones. They married in Manly. It was good for a brief period then he started drinking, getting generally involved in violent crime and then he abandoned her with a toddler and a mountain of debt.
To her credit, Martha made valient efforts to support herself and her child. She got employment and got back on her feet. Not content with the chaos he'd already caused her, Benjamin essentially stalked her and demanded money from her on a regular basis. Eventually Benjamin found himself in jail...again–his recorded criminal career is long and colourful. He and his mates nearly beat a police officer to death because he asked them to make less noise. Martha took that moment to divorce him.
