Personal Notes: |
Charles Pacey Pratt, son of George was a man of many talents. He was a blacksmith, then after his first marriage became a farmer, then an inventor. He invented and patented a header/winnower/stump jump plough and rabbit-poisoning cart; for which he became well known. Then his step-sons introduced him to ploughing and he became "champion" at all the ploughing competitions. A Coolamon jeweller made a silver miniature of his plough and presented it to him. He married Caroline Lawrence, a widow who had five children. After having six more children, this time to Charles Pratt, Caroline died. Charles became partner in a foundry businees. When he married Alice Turner, the family moved into Prince Street Junee and Charles became undertaker. Alice and Charles had no children |
