They had 8 (eight), children, 4 (four), in Scotland that emigrated with their parents, Roderick, Kenneth, Catherine Mary, and, Mary, And 4 (four), born in NSW, Alexander, Margaret, Christina Mary, and Angus.
Traveling as assisted immigrants the family arrived in Port Jackson, Sydney on 13 Dec 1837 on the ship "Midlothian".
