OBITUARY The death occurred at The Rock last Wednesday night of an old exGundagai resident in the person of Mrs. Somerville, snr., widow of the late Thomas Somerville, and mother of Mr. James Somerville, of Jones' Creek, aged 85 years. Deceased had been living with her daughter for some years and was quite active for one of her great years up to a week or so before her death, when she was forced to take to her bed. Her son left by car on Thursday morning to be with his mother in her dying moments, but found on arrival that she had passed away a few hours previously. The late Mrs. Somerville is survived by three sons and two daughters, viz: Mr. J. Somerville, Jones' Creek; Mr. H. Somerville, The Rock; Mr. T. Somerville, Oakley; Mrs. Richardson, The Rock; and Mrs. McDougall, Yarrawonga. Her remains were brought to Gundagai by train on Friday morning, and left for the old home at Jones' Creek at 2 o'clock in the afternoon for interment in the Church of England portion of the North Gundagai cemetery. |
