From Peter Fox "Bella, Mary Elisa’s mother is Isabella Sayle, married to David Young 23 Sep 1786.
The Youngs of Edinburgh are the most prestigious of our line, and were in shipping and the West Indies and one was a personal friend of the King, one of the Williams I think. Their line went back to the Campbell’s of Glenorchie? (Earl of Breadlalbane) and in turn to the infamous Black Duncan Campbell. The descendants of the Youngs in England are still well connected and have given me much of this material." |
