Personal Notes: |
Daily Advertiser (Wagga) 22 Jan 1945
MRS. D. HOUNSELL The death under sad circumstances took place in the Junee District Hospital of Mrs. Dorothy Hounsell, who was on a visit to her sister, Mrs, J. Anderson, of Junction-street, Junee, for the past three months. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Diessel, of Wagga. Her husband, Private Arthur James Hounsell was a prisoner of war in Japanese hands and was being transferred from one prison camp to another, when a Japanese ship was bombed and sunk off Thailand and he was among those lost. An Inmate of the Junee Hospital she was removed to her sister's home and became worse and was taken back to hospital last week, where the end came suddenly. Three children are left, their ages being 12, 10 and 9 years. |
