LATE MR. DAVID COPLAND, YESTERDAY'S FUNERAL, The remains of the late Mr. David Copland were buried in the Presby- terian portion of the Wagga cemetery yesterday morning. At 11 am the funeral cortege left his late residence 'Hillside.' The pall bearers - were eight departmental managers of Messrs. D. Copland and Co. and were Messrs. G. Wunsch, T Cox, W Hinton. J. W Davies, E Wunsch, H. G. Percy, F. S. Parker, and H. C. Vivian. A large number of male employees of the firm were pre sent, and when the cofiln was being carried from the house to the hearse, they formed a guard of honor. Prior to the funeral a short service was 'held bv Rev. John *Calder. Mov ing from the house the funeral was followed by a large cortege, contain ing many old friends of deceased. Be hind the hearse . was the mourning cf.Vch containing Messrs. 'Frank F., Sidney and Lance R. Copland, sons of deceased, and Rev. J. Calder. Then came deceased's private sulky convey ing .Air. Thomas Kynaston and Mr. j Adlington, leccased's 'coachman and gardener respectively. Despite the in clemency of the weather there was a large gathering of people, including Messrs. j. Jeremy, W. Storekeepers' Association sent very fine wreaths To the former was at tached a card bearing the following; — 'Committee of Wagga District Hospi tal send this token of respect and ap preciation to one who, as a member of i the committee and trustee, rendered signal services ,to the institution.' The S.c-rekeepcrs' card read as fol lows: — 'Wat(ga Storekeepers' Asso ciation offer this tribute of regard to the memory of the deceased, their oldest and much esteemed member' The wrcith from flic staff of 'David Copland and Co., coupled with a hand some floral tribute from deceased's family were placed on the coffin, the' remainder of the wreaths being placed in 'Mr. F. F. Copland's motor car. which immediately followed the hearse. Members nf the staff r.f the firm; carrying wreaths, marched in front of the hearse from 'Hillside,' to -Bolton Park, and 1-itcr formed a guard nl honor at the graveside. Rev. J.
