Personal Notes:
On 1 Nov 1809 at the Old Bailey, London, England, Dennis was convicted and
sentenced to death, but this sentence was commuted to transportation to the colonies for life, for stealing 56 yards of printed calico, valued at 5 shillings and 1 penny. He arrived in Port Jackson, Sydney on 18 Jan 1812, on the ship "Guildford".
He applied for and received permission to marry Mary nee Bradbury on 6 Oct 1817 in Sydney, NSW. They were married on 10 Nov 1817 in St. Phillip's Church of England, in Sydney, NSW.
Dennis received a Pardon on 31 Jan 1818 .
Dennis and Mary had 13 (thirteen), children.
