Personal Notes: |
Edward Spring was a carter in Wagga at the time of his stepfather's death and profited from his mother's legacy to the extent of buying "The Sportman's Arms" Hotel (cnr Kincaid and Beckwith Streets). He had the hotel from 1878-1894 when he leased it to his stepson. In 1893 Edward kept a hotel at West Wyalong (gold rush times) and operated the first Post Office there. Spring Street in Wagga Wagga is named after him. |
