Bowcher was baptised on 23 Api 1788 and wed Edward Randle TURPIN 1797 at St Petrock, Exeter on 15 Sep 1827. Edward, who was a carpenter and almost nine years younger than his wife, came from 'quite distant' Berry Pomeroy near Tomes in the south-east of Devon; they were still there at the 1861 census. As Deborah was nearly middle aged at marriage, it is doubtful whether they had a family. |
