Ellen O’Mara (Ellen Madigan) was the youngest daughter of John Madigan and Bridget Madigan of the Queen's Arms Hotel, the first inn erected in the present town.
She was educated at Goulburn Convent and was a gifted music teacher. She was one of the illustrious ladies in the history of Tumut because of her work for charity. She died in 1935 at St. Joseph's Home in the Aged at Young, at the age of 81 years. |
