Personal Notes: |
Queanbeyan Age 22 July 1915 "DEATH OF MR. ERNEST McKEAHIIE. This morning the sad and unex pected death of Ernest. younger son of C. H. McKeahnie, Esq., J.P., of 'Booroomba, was brought into town. The deceased, for some time past had been subject to rheumatic affections. Recently he had gone to Sydney on business, and whilst there caught influenza and returned home seriously ill. His condition was so alarming that an eminent medical man and a trained nurse from the metropolis were called in but nothing was of avail, and death ensued last night from rheumatic fever supervening on influenza. The remains will be interred tomorrow. in the Priesbyterian section of the Queanbeyan general cemetery where the McKeahnie family burial plot is located. Mr Ernest McKeahnie was in the prime of his manhood, being only 32 years of age, and married to one of the daughters of the late Mr. John Bull of this town. Fuller particulars of the sad affair will appear in our next Friday's issue." |
