Mrs. Emily Harris
MRS Emily L. Harris, aged 85 years, who died at Wermatong Station, Tumut, on the 30th May, was the youngest daughter of the late George Shelley, of Tumut Plains, one of the earliest land holders in that district. She married Hamlyn L. Harris, third son of the late General Hamlyn Harris (of 15th Madras Native Infantry) who predeceased her. She leaves a large family of five sons and seven daughters, one daughter being Mrs.W. Elliot Nixon, of Dunedoo. Mrs.Harris, who had lived in the Tumut district nearly all her life, was an active member of the Church of England, and was loved and respected for her cheerful, kindly personality and her great hospitality.
The sympathy of the "Guardian" is extended to the Nixon family in their sad bereavement.
