The growing family was still living at Ash Corner at this time but a new home had gradually been built
at Rock Valley, further down the valley. When they moved into Rock Valley, it was said that "It was a
very happy day for the GREEN family when they moved".
Alice was nurse maid to the younger children. She did not learn to milk until she went to Mr's Webb's
home at Uriarra some years later but she too rode well and helped both inside and outside work.
Life was difficult but each neighbour exchanged seed from their crops and everyone benefitted. Alice
Green married Ernest Wright who had come from Lincolnshire, England, as a young man and was
employed by her father, George Green. They were married at Christ Church, Queanbeyan in 1915.
Ernie and Alice went to Glen Innes in 1915 and were given a presentation on 1st May 1915 by the
people of the Tidbinbilla district at a function to farewell the Hatcliff's and the Wrights. An illuminated
address and a silver teapot were given to the young couple, through George Ratcliffe, as they had
already gone to Glen Innes. Later, the Wrights returned to Rock Valley and stayed with George Green
and Tom.
In 1925 after Tom Green married, Ernie, Alice and children, Ted, Roy, Jack and May moved into the
house called "Dinny Flanagan's" at "Congwarra" which at that stage was being used as a camp for
the workmen. George Green helped make improvements to the house and the Wrights stayed until
the early part of 1928. They then moved to Dalby in Queensland, farming there until 1947. For three
years after 1947 the Wrights lived in Stanthorpe on an orchard with mainly apple trees and then in
1951 they moved to Warwick purchasing two properties which the boys worked. They were helped by
Ernie who by then had moved into town.
Ernest Nesfield died in Warwick in 1960 and the boys went onto separate places.

After meeting Alice, I was very impressed with this lady. She was a quietly spoken woman who was
very competant and an excellent cook. Ted would visit her on a Sunday and Joy and I were very
happy to be in her company. I can only say that she was a lady who was reliable and of a grand style.
There
are not many people with her style and grace in this world.

Robyn Wright rang on Saturday 18th August 2018 to say that Aunty Lily passed
away two days ago. Aunty Lily was of sound mind but her body just gave way. She
was 95 years of age.
