- Notes: The death occurred in the Cootamundra District Hospital on Tuesday night of Mr. Frederick Whiles, aged 91. The veteran came from England to Australia a week after the wreck of the Dunbar, in a sailing vessel called the La Hogue. He went to the Araluen goldflelds to a brother, and some years later went to Wagga as a fettler on the railway, after which he went into business in Bethungra, where he had been since— about 50 years. |
