| George Lucas selected land on the northern side of the village of Coolamon in 1877 (along with his elder brother Thomas). He moved to land east of Grafton for a few years in the 1880s, but the floods decided him to return to Coolamon. He was for many years a prominent pioneer of the district. The first four children were from the marriage of George Lucas and Caroline Emma Barns, the next four from the marriage of George Lucas and Marcia Clarke. |
