The Tumut and Adelong Times 10 Feb 1922
TUMBLONG. An old and respected resident of the district, in the person of Mr. George Whitticker, passed away at his residence, at Tumblong, on the 2nd inst., at midday, after a short but severe illness. The deceased had been ailing for a considerable time, but was only confined to his room for the last few days. Born 54 years ago, at Jellingroo, he has resided at Tumblong for upwards of 30 years, where he reared a large faminy of four boys and five girls (three Messrs. Richard, William and James by a first wife, Miss Fuller, and six Misses Eileen, Lena, Madge, Eva Mary and Harry, by the second wife, a daughter of Mr. Phil Arentz, who was an old resident of Tumut). The funeral, which took place on Tuesday, was one of the largest ever seen here, representatives from all the leading families in the district being present. Besides his widow and children, the chief mourners were —Mr. W. Whitticker (Jellingroo), Mr. J. Whitticker (Rosedale), brothers; Mrs. Hardwick (Gundagai), Mrs. Crane (Mt. Adrah), Mrs. Dennis (Parkley), Mrs. Derrick (Happy Valley), and Mrs. Diamond (Tumblong), sisters; also Mrs. Snowden (Tumut), a niece. |

This public tree has about 60,100 people. Every person in the tree is related by birth or marriage to at least one other person in the tree - no strays. The people in the tree come mainly from four projects.
If you find errors - anything incorrect (dates, places, wrong parents, wrong children), and you have evidence, I would love to fix them. Or, if you have information that would extend my projects, do not hestiate to contact me on the email link below. I do not publish information on living people - which means I'm not much interested in people born after about 1920, and I usually distrust material from before about 1770 without extremely good sources. g.bell@bigpond.net.au When you click the mail address abouve, if it does not open your email app, copy the address on the screen.
