| - Notes: George and Mary Brunskill came from the North of England in 1877, and first carried on a dairy at Flowerdale which they leased from E. C. Pearson, who had married Robert Holt Best's widow.
Later various members of the family selected and purchased land in the district, particularly the eldest son, Anthony, who was already working when they arrived. They, too, were industrious and progressive and soon made a contribution to the affairs of the town. |
