Wagga Wagga Advertiser (NSW : 1875 - 1910) about Saturday 1 July 1893 • < Page 2 THe funeral of the late Mr. George Brunskill, who died at his residence, Flowerdale, Wagga, at a late hour on Wednesday night, took place yesterday when a large number of friends followed the remains to their last resting place. Mr. Brunekill, who at the time of his death was 59 years old, was born in Westmoreland, England, where he was brought up among farmers, and thoroughly that industry in all its branches. In 1877 he came to Australia, and took up his residence in New South Wales in the neighborhood of Kiama, where he remained for two years. He then came to Wagga, where he lived till the time of his death following agricultural pursuite. He reared a large family, all of whom are well-known resident- of this district, and connected with farming on a large scale, Mr. Anthony Brunskill, of Bon Accord Farm, having this year about 4000 acres under cultivation; Mr. Christopher Hodgson Brunskill, Lake Albert, 1000 acres; Mr. George Brunskill, Lake Albert, 700 acres. Mr. John Brunskill, another son, is manager of the machinery on Bon Accord. Mrs. Robert Dunn, of Kurrajong, and Mrs. T. W. Milne, of Wagga, are daughters of the deceased

- Notes: George and Mary Brunskill came from the North of England in 1877, and first carried on a dairy at Flowerdale which they leased from E. C. Pearson, who had married Robert Holt Best's widow.
Later various members of the family selected and purchased land in the district, particularly the eldest son, Anthony, who was already working when they arrived. They, too, were industrious and progressive and soon made a contribution to the affairs of the town.
