The Tumut and Adelong Times 3 May 1927
The remains of the late Mr. H. B. Beveridge were brought to Junee by the main train on Saturday morning, April 22, and taken to St. Luke's Church. At. 2 o'clock in the afternoon a Lodge of Sorrow was held in the Masonic Temple in Belmore-st., and was largely attended by brethren of Lodge Alexandra, as well as visiting brethren. At 2.15 a short service was conducted in St. Luke's Church by Rev. H. W. Palmer. It was also largely attended by relatives and friends of the deceased. Before the body left the church the Dead March was played . The pall-bearers were Mr. J. W. C. Beveridge. Mr. Mat. Sawyer, Mr. T. J. Heffernan, Mr. R . M. Harris, Mr. J. Weir, and another. The funeral procession was an immense one, and extended from the top of the Wantabadgery Hill to the police station in Belmore-street. It was thoroughly representative of the whole of the district, and there were besides many from Sydney and elsewhere in the State. The service at the graveside was conducted by Rev. W. H. Palmer, and Wor. Bro. W. J. Fulton read the Masonic burial service. |
