George married Catherine nee Swords on 10 Jan 1858 in the Church of England, Delegate, New South Wales. They had 12 children, Alexander, Charles Henry, John James, Mary Jane, Ellen, James, David, Thomas George, George William, William (1876-1876), William Henry, and James Edward.
He married Mary Jane nee Jeffery (Cowell) on 27 Jul 1892 in Cooma, NSW. The Bombala Times (NSW : 1912 - 1938) Fri 7 Dec 1917 Page 1 On Sunday, night last, Mr. George Morrison, senior, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home at Crankies Plain, near Bombala. Mr. Morrison, who was 81 years of age, was a very old resident of this district. He lived for many years at the Delegate end, but the latter part of his life was spent at the home in which he died, where he lived with his second and devoted wife. There was a family of seven sons and two daughters in the first union. Of these Dave, Alex., and Charles reside at Bombala, and Thomas, John, George, and William, and Mrs. Flett and Mrs. John Jones live in and around Delegate. The funeral on Tuesday was largely attended, the burial service being read by the Rev. D. D. Carruthers. |
