Personal Notes: |
James Kelly and his wife, Mary, left Kapunda district of South Australia for Germanton, now Holbrook about 1874 by bullock dray & horses. James worked around the Germanton area until 1879 when he received a grant of land near Yerong Creek which he named "Cambusdoon". He continued to acquire land, and as his sons were married he gave them part of the estate and a sum of money. At James's death, the homestead block was left to Mary. When she died it was sold and the proceeds went to the daughters. |
