Personal Notes:

Henry Moon built the Rising Moon Hotel on the site of the present Royal Hotel in 1854. Before this he built the flourmill, powered by a water wheel, at Gilmore. It was on the opposite side of the railway line to the old Gilmore Hotel. This mill continued to operate until shortly after the close of the nineteenth century.
