Personal Notes:
Peter Kelly, it is assumed, applied to be the Gaol Warder in the new Wagga Wagga gaol before 1867. He held that position until about 1873; in 1874 he was a Corn Dealer, then a Produce Merchant until 1879, then an Innkeeper, in 1880 he was a Hotel Keeper until 1883, then a Government Storeman until 1887 at Junee Junction. My grandmother, Isabella Kelly nee Bye was deaf. When crossing over the rail lines in Junee she didn't hear the train and was killed. She was 69 years old. They only found small pieces of her which were put into a sugar bag, according to my father, Nathaniel Augustine Kelly, son of Frederick Augustin Kelly.
