| The Atkinson Family who arrived were among the first farmers in the district. They settled on a farming property just up stream from Francis Anderson's. Here they established Tumut's first brewery. Johnny Beale, afterwards the well-known brewer, worked for the Atkinsons and it was here that he probably learned his trade. Atkinsons afterwards owned Goobarragandra Station. One the sons, James Atkinson, married Harriet Clout, daughter of David Clout. |
