Personal Notes:
James Arthur Bower, known as Arthur was born 15 September 1875, at "Bowerdale"Candelo. He was the eldest of Frederick and Margaret's ten children.

Arthur married Rebecca Jane Miles, 26 December 1898 at Bega. They first lived in Candelo and then followed Uncle William north to Mullumbimby in 1908. At first they lived at Main Arm then Telopia near Bangalow and finally settled on "The Saddle" between Mullumbimby and Brunswick Heads at a
property was called "Bowerdale" after the property in Candelo. It is thought the road may later have been named Bower Road.

Wallace Mervyn [Wal] came with them but Elizabeth Ann Thelma, or Lizzie as was called, was too delicate to travel at that time, so, she remained in Candelo with her Bower grandparents and Arthur's sisters. She came later and was also known as Betty. She married Reginald Maurice Curnow
25/10/1922 at Mullumbimby. Ronald Arthur [Ron] was born 16 March, 1922 at Mullumbimby.
