The Tumut and Adelong Times 27 Jun 1933
MR, J. E. HODGES The death occurred suddenly last Thursday of Mr. James Evans Hodges, of 22 Forsyth-street, Wagga at the age of 81 years. Mr. Hodges had been to the post office and was returning to his home when he collapsed at the bridge in (Forsyth-st. , between Carmody's hotel and Tar cutta-street. The Wagga ambulance was summoned and a doctor sent for . When the doctor arrived Mr . Hodges was dead . Mr . Hodges was born at Tumut, but went to live at Wagga when quite young. He resided at Wagga for the greater part of his life, and is survived by his widow and five sons and five daughters — Messrs James, John Tho mas and (Richard Hodges (Wagga), Mr. Albert Hodges (Tarcutta), Mrs. J. Keogh (North Wagga), Mrs K. Hodge and Mrs C. Tilden (Wagga), Mrs G. Reineker (Temora), and Mrs C. Hodge (Condobolin). A brother, Mr . G . Hodges, of Condobolin, a step-brother, Mr. Thomas Price, of Coolamon, and a sister, Mrs G. Johns, of Hillston, also survive. The funeral took place on Saturday morning, the remains being buried in the Church of England portion of the Wagga Cemetery. |
