Personal Notes: |
John Dodd moved from Appin to the Tummit valley in 1841 and settled close to where the Brungle bridge was later built. He had moved to the area on the advice of Joseph Cox who had settled at Gobaralong on the Murrumbidgee upstream from itsjunction with the Tumut River.
Margaret Maloney married John Dodd of Appin but, soon after arriving in the Tumut valley John Doddwas thrown from his horse and never thoroughly recovered. Margaret then ran the affairs of the Brungle Property and raised a large family. |
