Elizabeth's verified family has been traced by experts to John QUILLIAM 1752 at Patrick, IOM who wed Elizabeth CHRISTIAN on 23 Dec 1775 at Braddan. Elizabeth bp 1750 was the daughter of Daniel Christian and Margaret CURPHEY. There are so many Manx people with the surname Christian that I didn't even try to look for a connection to Fletcher Christian of 'Bounty' fame - though he too was a Manxman.
John and Elizabeth Quilliam had three children, Margaret who married a Mr Kelly and lived in Liverpool; John who also lived in Liverpool but returned to Kirk Braddan for burial on 16 Jul1850 and Jane baptised at Douglas on 15 Aug 1792 but possibly born some years earlier as age discrepancies occur in censuses of later years. |
