Personal Notes:
Between 4 and 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon Mr John Haisel, sent., farmer of Coolac, left town in the afternoon driving an empty dray. As he was passing near Walker and Co's. store he attempted to stop the dray, and one of the horses, a young colt, suddenly swerved round, knocking him down. Before he could recover himself one of the wheels of the dray passed over his left thigh causing a compound fracture. He was taken to the Hospital, and from present appearances Dr. McKillop fears he will be obliged to amputate the injured limb.

We regret to record that Mr John Haisell, sen., who had his left thigh broken on the 24th ult., by the wheels of his dray running over it, died at the Hospital about noon on Thursday last. From the first Dr. McKillop had very slender hopes that the deceased, who was a man advanced in years, would survive the accident, and after the injured limb had been amputated mortification sent in.
