Death of Mr. John Ford.
News reached town yesterday of the death of an old Queanbeyan identity in the person of Mr. John Ford. Deceased had attained the age of 77 years. He was born at Parramatta and came to Queanbeyan when a boy. He married Miss Martha Daniels, of Bungendore, and went to reside at Irishtown, on the east side of the river. About 15 years ago failing health caused his retirement from active work. For the past 12 months he had been in Kenmore Hospital where he died on Sunday night. He leaves a widow and large family, consisting of Sarah (Mrs. Garth. Goulburn), Samuel, Martha (Mrs. J. W. T. Smith, Bombala), Mary (Mrs. Geo. Blandon), Albert (Queanbeyan), Ruth (Mrs. J. Brown, Bathurst), Grace (Mrs. E. Skerry, Batlow), James (Goulburn), and Edward (Queanbeyan). The funeral will take place in Goulburn to-morrow.
