OBITUARY MRS. J. SPEIRS The death occurred on Thursday evening at her late residence, of Mrs. Lilus Fairlena Speirs (wife of Mr. Joseph Speirs), of 156 Tarcutta street, Wagga, after an extended illness. Born at Wyalong, Mrs. Speirs was the second daughter of late Mr. and Mrs. James Jamieson. She was married at Collinga, near Cootamundra, to Mr. Joseph Speirs, and until about 17 years ago resided in Cootamundra. They then moved to Wagga, where she had resided ever since. Mrs. Speirs was a very staunch and loyal worker in all Presbyterian Church affairs, both in Cootamundra, and until recent years in Wagga, and her keen support and kindly disposition have been greatly missed during her illness. She was also a keen worker for the Eisteddfod council, Shakespearian Society, Benevolent Society and Wagga Musical Society, and was always a supporter of everything which made for progress in the community. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Joseph Speir's, two daughters, Mrs. Melville (Eva), of Wagga, and Mrs. Hill (Lilian), of Burwood, Sydney; three sons; Jim and Alan, of Wagga, and Colin of Sydney; also one brother, Mr. Jamieson of Narandera, and two sisters, Mrs. G. Henry, of Cootamundra, and Miss Sadie Jamieson, of Sydney.
