The Tumut and Adelong Times 27 Apr 1926
MR. REG. GITTOES. One of Gundagai's soldier boys, Mr. Reg. Gittoes, has answered "present" to the last great Roll Call. Reg. was the fourth son of Mr. George Gittoes, of Tumblong, and in the Great War he was badly wounded and lost one eye. Securing a block on Tarraban dra Soldier Settlement, after he re turned, deceased farmed it for a while, but last year leased the property to Mr. George Holm, and went to reside in Sydney. His health had been failing for some time, and he died in Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, on Tuesday, a few hours after admission. The deceased leaves a wife (nee Miss Todd, Adelong) and child. Messrs. Mel, Athol, Will and Wal. Gittoes were brothers and Mrs. T. A. Boynton [sic] and Mrs. B. Cooper sis ters. |
