The Tumut and Adelong Times 26 Nov 1929
OBITUARY MRS. JOSEPH BUTLER The death occurred at the Wagga District Hospital early on Friday morning of Mrs. Iris Olive Butler, a highly respected resident of Oura Village, aged 56 years. The late Mrs. Butler was the wife of Mr. Joseph Butler, and youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Perfect, of Adelong, two of the earliest residents of this district. She was twice married, her first husband being the late Mr. William Cooper. Two daughters of that marriage survive her, Mrs. George Isaacs (Sydney), and Mrs. William Watson (Wagga), there being no children of the second marriage. She also leaves one son and one grand-daughter. Mrs. Butler was born and educated at Adelong. During the past twelve years she has resided at Wagga and Oura. The funeral left St. John's Church of England at 2.30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon after a short service, interment taking place in the Wagga cemetery. |
