Drowning Fatality.— On Thursday a
number of lads were bathing in the river at
Mirani, when Donald McGregor, aged about
12 years, got beyond his depth and was
drowned. The river was searched until
dark but no trace of the body could be found.
The search was resumed early yesterday
morning when the body was found. Great
sympathy will be felt for Mr. Murdock Ross
McGregor, the father of the lad.

THE funeral of the late Catherine Meikeljohn Herrigan, dearly beloved wife of William John Herrigan, of Glenella, and beloved mother of William, Murdo, Donald and Stewart Herrigan, Mrs. J. McKay (North Side), Mrs. R. Hobbs (Owen's Creek) and Mrs. J. Ronald (Mackay) will move from the Presbyterian Church, Mackay, This Day, at 11 a.m. to the Mackay Cemetery. The funeral service will commence at 10.50 a.m. Friends will please accept this intimation and invitation.
