OBITUARY
The late Mr. Alfred Charles Evans,
who died at his home, 'Toolburra,'
Woodville road, Woodville, on Friday
was in his 89 year. He was well known
as a shipping and land agent at Port
Adelaide, where he also formerly man
aged the branch of the Norwich Union
Fire Insurance Society. He was also
for many years a member of the Ade
laide Stock Exchange. Mr. Evans
was born at Woolton Grange, Getacre.
near Liverpool, and arrived in Australia
with his parents in 1851. He was the
only child of the late Joshua Evans
who was a shipping agent at Port Ade
laide.
